Thanksgiving Food Drive

Brighter Hope Christian Fellowship and One Day at (a) Time Organization sponsored a Thanksgiving Food Drive on Tuesday, November 26th, 2013. Church Members and Community Volunteers gathered at Brighter Hope Christian Fellowship to organize and pack the Thanksgiving Dinners. We provided forty dinners that fed approximately four people each, totaling 160 people served. Each family was provided with a 5-8 pound turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, gravy, vegetables, potatoes, macaroni and cheese, beans, rice, cornbread, and cake mix.

Fifteen dinners were delivered to the surrounding community, to include Clayton, Garner, Raleigh, Knightdale, and Durham NC.  We welcomed 25 families to the church and even residents of an Oxford Shelter for Men as they came and received their dinners. Each of the families were very thankful and humbled by the show of love and support.

In addition to providing food for their physical bodies, Dr. Blanzie Williams and clergy provided spiritual nourishment through prayer and counseling to attendees. The Thanksgiving Drive directly with Brighter Hope Christian Fellowships Mission Statement, “To be a Christ-centered fellowship that desires to bring people to Jesus and membership in His family to develop them to Christ-like maturity, and to equip them for their ministry in the church and their life mission in the world in order to magnify God's name.”

Thank you to everyone who donated their time and resources!
